Thin Fritter Batter for Quahogs
Ingredients
1 cup flour 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 egg 1 cup. milk 1/3 cup vegetable oil |
Directions:
Blend dry ingredients in a bowl. Mix eggs, milk and oil together and add to dry ingredients. Beat with rotary beater until smooth. Drain and dry raw quahogs with paper towels. Coat with flour using tongs or fork. Just do a few at a time. Dip quahogs into batter, letting excess badder drop off. Drop individually into hot fat (Crisco shortening) just deep enough to float quahogs.. Shirley Ladetto |
